Our newly formed Hikohiko Te Uira Charitable Trust will build sustainability and realise aspirations for the future generations of rangatahi and vulnerable people living in our region through initiatives that build life-long skills and create opportunities that promote innovation, entrepreneurship and knowledge to reduce our number of young people Not Engaged in Education, Employment or Training (NEETS).

Lightning Hub Origins Papa te whatitiri, hikohiko te uira, I kanapu ki te rangi; ru ana te whenua. The thunder crashes, the lightning flashes, Flashes in the heavens, and the earthquake shakes the land. Originating from the Takitimu waka on their discovery from Tahiti to Aotearoa this whakatauki personifies the innovative approach to achieving world changing outcomes. Lightning Hub’s strength is the collaboration between tenants and their surrounding networks to create multi-facet deliverables benefiting all our communities.
